Mijn techniek: ik ben dol op vroeg twintigste-eeuwse houtsnedes en lino’s, zoals de boekillustraties van Felix Timmermans. Of de kraaien van Jan Mankes. Met het snijden van stempels kun je hetzelfde effect bereiken, maar veel sneller. Je krijgt er van die lekker dikke, een beetje hoekige lijnen mee. De gesneden stempels druk ik af, en daarna bewerk en kleur ik ze in Photoshop.
Mijn dagelijks leven: ik woon in Utrecht met mijn man, onze jongste zoon en een kat met een rare naam.

My technique: I love woodcuts and lino’s from the beginning of the 20th century, such as the book illustrations by the famous Belgian writer/draughtsman Felix Timmermans. Or Jan Mankes’ wonderful crows. I found out that cutting stamps works just as well – and quicker. Other than cutting linoleum, it is pretty smooth going. It gets you these nice thick and somewhat angular lines which I love. I color them in Photoshop.
My daily life: I live in the pretty medieval town of Utrecht, in the center of the Netherlands, with my husband, our youngest son and a cat with a silly name.
